C.3 Ultra low-voltage mixed-signal circuits

PhD Student: Christain Moranz

The work of Christian Moranz is focused on the development of analog mixed-signal circuit blocks for a variable low-voltagesupply (0.4 V ≤ VDD ≤ 1 V)as usually can be found in energy harvesting systems.
A Continuous-Time Delta-Sigma Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) serves as a first proof of concept. This ADC already comprises the main parts needed in sensor systems as amplifiers, bias circuits, analog and digital filters and the ADC itself. The resulting library can not only be applied for analog and digital signal processing but also in power management circuits. These circuits allow fast and reliable implementation of energy autonomous sensor systems.
